Nigerian coach Paul Aigbogun will not be taking up the position of Accra Hearts of Oak’s manager, as talks between the two parties have broken down, according to Sahara Football.
The former Nigeria U20 coach and Nigeria national team Deputy Technical Director declined the offer to become Hearts of Oak’s new Head Coach, despite the club presenting an enticing proposal. The talks had been ongoing since the departure of Slavko Matic and interim coach David Ocloo.
While Aigbogun was tempted by the lucrative offer from Hearts of Oak, he ultimately chose not to accept it due to his existing commitments in Denmark and Nigeria.
Currently, he holds the position of Head of Scouting at Lagos-based club Sporting Lagos and played a significant role in facilitating the club owner Sola Akindele’s acquisition of Danish club Aarhus Fremad earlier this year.
Aigbogun remains fully committed to his ongoing projects with Sporting Lagos and its sister club in Denmark, which led him to turn down the offer from Hearts of Oak.
As a result, Hearts of Oak will continue their search for a new Head Coach as they prepare for the upcoming season.
