Samuel Chukwueze, the talented Nigerian player, has been honored for his outstanding performances in the Spanish La Liga.
The 24-year-old has been named the African Player of the 2022-23 season in the Spanish La Liga. Chukwuze emerged as the deserving winner, surpassing his teammate and fellow African, Nicholas Jackson, to claim this prestigious award.
In his fifth season in the Spanish La Liga and European football, the former Diamond Academy forward made a significant impact and showcased his immense talent.
He played a crucial role in Villarreal’s fifth-place finish in the league standings and their qualification for the UEFA Europa League.
Chukwueze’s contributions were remarkable, as he directly contributed to 24 goals throughout the season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 50 games for Villarreal across all competitions.
Due to his impressive displays, Chukwueze has earned a place in the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations Group A qualifier against Sierra Leone, scheduled to take place later this month.
