Accra, Ghana – Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu is beaming with confidence as his team prepares to make their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Nsoatre-based club has written history by winning the FA Cup title for the first time, defeating Bofoakwa Tano 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 1-1 draw.
Speaking after the match, Coach Konadu expressed his team’s determination to make a mark in the African competition. “Let’s see what happens. We always believe in ourselves and we know what we’ve got and once is football, anything can happen,” he said.
Nsoatreman FC’s victory is a testament to their resilience, as they came from behind to level the score after Bofoakwa Tano took an early lead. Sadat Mohammed’s equalizer in the 33rd minute set the stage for a thrilling finale, which ended in penalties.
As winners of this year’s FA Cup campaign, Nsoatreman FC will receive an amount of GHC180,0000, a significant boost to their coffers. The team will now turn their attention to the CAF Confederation Cup, where they will face tough competition from teams from across the continent.
