Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu says he’s disappointed following his side- Wisła Kraków’s 1-1draw against Śląsk Wrocław on Sunday in the Polish top-flight.

In the match, in which two goals were scored, one for each side, Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu scored the only goal for the guests, who threw the ball into the goal guarded by Michał Szromnik.

The action, which in the 6th minute of the match went on the right side of the field and after which the first goal was scored at the Wrocław stadium, could be liked. Good pass from Tsitaishvili, fast forward from Gruszkowski and finishing Manu.

“I saw that Gio had the ball and Grucha was running ahead and in this situation I had to be under the opponent’s goal. As soon as I saw that he had reached the penalty area, I ran as soon as I could to be at the second post and put the ball into the net “- the 28-year-old player calmly described the circumstances of his first hit for Wisła.

One goal is not enough

Immediately after the referee’s whistle opening the game – and without waiting for anything – the Wisła players eagerly set off for the opponent’s goal, trying to break his defensive lines, which they managed very quickly. However, despite the subsequent opportunities created with the passing of the minutes, the players of Jerzy Brzęczek were unable to document their advantage, which was carefully used by the hosts, equalizing and ultimately leading to a draw.

“Obviously I’m disappointed with that one point because we had so many chances in the first half of the game that I think we should easily score two or three goals,” Manu told wisla.krakow.pl.

“With a two or three goal half-time lead, the game would have been easier. The opponent didn’t have much to say and we can blame ourselves for not hitting more times in the first game. In the second half, we had a fight match and the situation could have developed both ways, “Manu expressed his opinion, adding:” We were strong. We analyzed the opponent and knew what his weaknesses were, which we tried to make use of. I think it was good for us, but we didn’t score enough goals. ”  he added.

Unsatisfactory draw

Could the change in the nature of the next 45 minutes of the match be caused by the overwhelming fear of losing another goal and, as a consequence, the defeat complicating the situation in the table even more?

“Maybe in the second half we were more careful from the back, also with the ball, because we didn’t want to concede another goal. We secured it and were open to the next two or three counterattacks. We had some counterattack in this second half but ran out of cold blooded use so it ended up in a 1-1 draw. I think we are totally disappointed with this one point “- summed up the author of the hit for the White Star. Elvis Man concluded.
