CAF has agreed with Morocco and FIFA about the date for the 2025 AFCON. 2025 summer will be the time for the maiden edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
Most European Leagues are finished in May. The FIFA Club World Cup will be played soon after the end of the leagues. Then the attention will be switched to the 35th edition of the AFCON in Morroco immediately the FIFA Club World Cup ends.
23 July to 21 August 2025 is the agreed date for the 2025 AFCON. The European Leagues will likely commence in the middle of the AFCON.
