Asante Kotoko have reached an agreement to mutually terminate the contract of four players, the club has confirmed.
The Porcupines have been under rebuilding following a horrendous 2022/23 season which saw the team fail to retain the Premier League title and as well make significant impact in the CAF Champions League and FA Cup.
Last month, Manhyia announced the dissolution of both the technical and management team, while appointing a four-man Interim Management Committee (IMC) to prepare the team for the new season which kicks off next month.
As part of the preparations, the IMC which is led by James Kwesi Appiah as Technical Director and Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum as Head Coach has decided to part ways with four players.
The players include; experienced defender Mohammed Alhassan, Charles Owusu, Dickson Afoakwa and Samuel Boateng who spent part of last season on loan at Samartex.
Charles Owusu, Dickson Afoakwa and Samuel Boateng joined Asante Kotoko in 2021. The trio were part of the team that won the league title in the 2021/22 season under the tutelage of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Mohammed Alhassan on the other hand joined the club at the beginning of the year after leaving Hearts of Oak. He failed to replicate the form that saw him become a cult hero at Hearts of Oak, making just 8 appearances for the team.
The quartet become the latest players to mutually part ways with the club in recent days after winger Joseph Amoako.
Meanwhile, the club has announced the signings of Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara from Berekum Chelsea, Yahaya Dawuni from Susubiribi SC, Nanabayin Amoah from Venomous Vipers and Andrews Ntim Manu on a free transfer.
