Manhyia Palace have announced Business tycoon Dr.Kwame Kyei of Unity Oil as the new Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
In a statement signed by Chief of Staff Kofi Badu stated that Dr. Kyei has been handed a three-year mandate to steer the affairs of the club and to raise it to height.
The statement reads:
” Manhyia Palace announces that His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Asantehene, has appointed Dr. Kwame Kyei, Group Chief Executive Officer of Unity Group to constitute a New administration for Asante Kotoko.
Dr. Kyei has been given a three-year mandate to steer the Affairs for Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.
He will head an Executive Board members of which will be appointed by His majesty on the advice of Dr, Kyei.
The statement added” Dr. Kyei has been mandated to reshape the administrative structures of the club to infuse professionalism and competence at all levels of its operations .Te ultimate objective of the mandate is to consolidate the position of Kotoko at the top of the domestic league and advance further to take its rightful place among the elite clubs of continental African soccer.
Background
Dr. Kwame Kyei 55, hails from the royal house of Agona Wiamoasi. He is one of the country’s outstanding entrepreneurs with strong position in the downstream sector of the petroleum and gas industry.
He also has in interest in the media and hospitality industries.
