Ghanaian defender Nicholas Osei Bonsu has officially signed with Moldovan Superliga club Spartanii Sportul on a free transfer ahead of the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old left-back was unveiled by the Red and Yellow club after successfully passing a mandatory medical examination. Spartanii Sportul, based in Chișinău, is managed by former Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah, who played a key role in securing the young talent.
Osei Bonsu joined the Chișinău-based team after mutually terminating his contract with Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko following the 2023–24 season.
He originally arrived at Asante Kotoko in 2022 from Bibiani Goldstars SC on a free transfer and went on to make 38 appearances across all competitions during his two-year stint with the Porcupine Warriors.
Osei Bonsu is the second former Asante Kotoko player to sign with Spartanii Sportul this summer, following Isaac Oppong, who also joined the Moldovan club after being released by the Kumasi-based team at the end of the 2023–24 season.
