Ghana international Salis Abdul Samed has completed a permanent switch to French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old midfielder joins on a three-year contract worth €2.5 million as Nice intensifies its midfield reinforcement ahead of the 2025/26 Ligue 1 campaign. The club, who recently fell short in the Champions League qualifiers against Benfica, is determined to strengthen its squad before the season kicks off.

Samed arrives from fellow Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens, where he had fallen out of the first-team picture. He spent the 2024/25 season on loan with English Championship side Sunderland, enduring a challenging campaign plagued by injuries that restricted him to just 11 appearances.

Despite the setbacks, the Ghanaian ended the season on a positive note as Sunderland clinched promotion to the Premier League. However, the club opted not to make his stay permanent, and he returned to Lens at the end of the campaign.

With no future at Lens, Samed now embarks on a new chapter at Nice, where he will aim to rediscover the form that made him a standout at Clermont Foot before his move to Lens in 2022.

As part of the transfer agreement, RC Lens will receive a percentage of any future sale of the Black Stars midfielder.
