Kassim Ocansey Mingle has been appointed as the new head coach of Nations FC, a recently promoted team in the Ghana Premier League.
The club made the announcement on Friday night, although the duration of Mingle’s contract has not been disclosed. Interestingly, the tweet announcing his appointment has since been deleted.
Nations FC earned their place in the Ghana Premier League by clinching the championship in the 2022/23 Nations Division One League Zone 2. They secured an impressive 72 points from 30 games, finishing seven points ahead of Skyy FC.
Mingle’s arrival at Nations FC comes after his departure from Bechem United, another Ghana Premier League team. During his two seasons with Bechem United, he guided them to a commendable second-place finish in the 2022/23 season, accumulating 54 points. Medeama SC and Aduana FC claimed the top two spots, with Bechem United trailing closely behind.
Mingle’s tenure at Bechem United marked their second consecutive third-place finish in the league, highlighting his ability to lead teams to competitive positions.
Now, he will embark on a new challenge with Nations FC as they prepare for their debut season in the top flight of Ghanaian football.
