Nigerian Premier League side Akwa United have secured the signatures of Ghanaian players Mutawakilu Seidu and Paul Acquah ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Mutawakilu Seidu, previously with Dreams FC, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak, joins Akwa United on a one-year contract. This move marks his third club in the Nigerian Premier League. Seidu arrives from Rivers United, where his contract recently expired.

Paul Acquah, a former forward for Hearts of Oak, also joins Akwa United after ending his stint with Al Anwar in Libya.

Akwa United, who are aiming to restore their title-contending status, have also confirmed the acquisition of 17 new players as they prepare for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
