Former Accra Shooting Stars wonderkid, Godswill Vadze, has joined Serbian Super League team Čukarički on a three-year contract in the ongoing transfer window.
Vadze, an offensive midfielder who shone last season with Zvijezda 09 in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is expected to make a considerable impact in Serbia.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian was born on September 4, 2001, in Tefle, Ghana. After honing his skills for three years with Accra Shooting Stars FC, he embarked on his international career with Austrian side Pinzgau Saalfelden before moving to Zvijezda 09 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During his time in Republika Srpska, Vadze proved his worth by scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 49 matches. His impressive performances caught the eye of Čukarički, who believe he fits perfectly into their system.
“I am very happy to join Čukarički. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and start training. I am grateful to God and to all the people in Ghana who believed in my talent. I promise to give my best for this club. It is a privilege to play for Čukarički,” Vadze said upon his introduction to the club.
Vadze, who will wear the number 11 jersey, underwent medical examinations on Monday and is set to begin training with his new team today.
“We have been tracking Vadze for a long time,” said Goran Grkinić, Čukarički’s technical director. “After a detailed analysis of his qualities with the help of our scouting service, we concluded that he is the ideal player for our head coach Goran Stanić’s system. We expect him to adapt quickly and make a significant contribution to the team.”
Isaac Ansah, Vice President of Accra Shooting Stars FC, expressed confidence in Vadze’s potential.
“Our goal is to produce top-level players capable of competing at the highest level. We believe Vadze will be among the best in the world of football in the coming years,” he said.
As Vadze embarks on this new chapter with Čukarički, both the club and his supporters back home in Ghana will be eagerly watching his progress.
