English Championship side Swansea City have announced the signing of Ghanaian winger Joseph Opoku from Belgian club Zulte Waregem on a four-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year.
The 20-year-old joins after an impressive 2025/26 campaign, registering 10 goals and six assists in 34 Belgian Pro League matches.
A graduate of Great Corinthians FC, Opoku moved to Belgium in 2024, helping Zulte Waregem earn promotion before becoming one of the league’s standout young attackers. His performances also earned him a senior Black Stars debut in May 2026 after previously featuring for Ghana’s U20 side.
Swansea head coach Vitor Matos described Opoku as a “fast and sharp player” capable of adapting to the Championship’s intensity, while Sporting Director Ben Stevens praised his potential and experience despite his young age.
The move marks another major step in Opoku’s career as he looks to strengthen Swansea’s promotion push while continuing his rise with the Ghana national team.
