Thomas Partey played a crucial role in Arsenal’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, as the Gunners kept their Premier League title hopes alive.
Mikel Merino’s late brace secured all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side, who had to dig deep to overcome the struggling Foxes. Partey started the match and delivered a solid performance before being substituted in the 75th minute for Jorginho.
The win sees Arsenal move within four points of league leaders Liverpool, who are set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
Reflecting on the victory, Partey expressed his gratitude for the team’s resilience, writing on social media: “On days when I’m not at my best, the strength of the team carries us to victory. Vamoooosss!”
The Ghanaian midfielder has been a key figure for Arsenal this season, making his 24th league appearance and contributing three goals and two assists.
With only four months remaining on his current contract, the Gunners are reportedly preparing to offer him an extension.
