Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says his team needs consistency ahead of the Sudan game in a crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The Ghana gaffer, Addo believes the team has the quality and are mentally prepared to secure a must win in their upcoming game on Tuesday, October 15.
Speaking on Ghana’s disappointing draw against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium, the tactician showered praises on the players for their effort.
“I think we showed in the last game we don’t have to look too much back. In terms of passion and willingness to win, it was there, but the last thing missing was to score goals,” Addo said. “The boys are mentally ready. This is the only thing missing. We have to score goals and believe in ourselves. It’s very important.”
Addo stressed the importance of consistency, particularly in high-stakes national games. “If this belief comes, goals will come. We just surely have to show consistency. Especially with the national team, there is no time. At the end, it’s all about success, and it’s all about winning, and we have to show it.”
With Ghana in a precarious position in the qualifiers, sitting third in Group F, the Black Stars are under pressure to secure a victory and keep their AFCON 2025 hopes alive.
