Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has expressed his excitement about taking charge of the Ghana senior national team for the second time.
The highly-rated coach concluded his tenure with Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2023/24 football season to fully commit to his role as head coach of the Black Stars.
During a press conference in Ghana on Wednesday, May 29, Otto Addo shared his feelings about returning to his homeland. “I am happy and excited to be back, but it was not easy. The FA had a lot of talks with Dortmund, and I am back home,” he said.
At the same event, Coach Addo revealed his squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Mali and the Central African Republic. Ghana will first travel to Mali for the initial match on Tuesday, June 4, with the game set to be played on Thursday, June 6.
Following this, the Black Stars will host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10. This period marks an important phase for the team as they aim to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup.
