Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has made it clear that his goal is to keep Ghana at the top of Group I until the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The coach was all smiles on Friday night after leading Ghana to a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad in Round 5 of the African qualifiers. The emphatic win pushed the Black Stars to the top of the group with 12 points, two ahead of second-placed Madagascar.
Speaking after the match, Addo emphasized the team’s determination to hold onto their position.
“It’s always easier when you’re on top. We want to stay there. We will try to do everything to beat Madagascar on Monday to keep the top spot,” he said.
With that mindset, the Black Stars will now turn their focus to their crucial Round 6 encounter against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, in Morocco. A victory in that match will strengthen their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
