Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has brushed off criticism following his team’s elimination from the MTN FA Cup, maintaining that his focus remains on achieving success.
The Phobians bowed out in the Round of 16 after a 4-3 penalty shootout loss to Golden Kick FC, following a goalless draw. With the FA Cup out of reach, the Ghana Premier League remains their only chance at silverware this season.
Ouattara, however, remains unshaken by the pressure. “Every coach will be criticized if things don’t go well. No problem. People can say anything they want—I don’t have any issue with that, and I’m not afraid,” he told Asempa FM.
Despite calls from some fans for a change in leadership, the Ivorian remains committed to his objectives. “If I’m the problem, I have no issue with that. My focus is on winning trophies. Whether I’m the right man for the job is not for me to decide,” he added.
With their FA Cup hopes dashed, Hearts of Oak now turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League, where they currently sit fourth with 33 points.
