Ghana head coach Avram Grant has praised his players for displaying good football against Egypt on Wednesday evening but says” ”It was a game decided by one mistake”.
AS Roma’s Mohammed Salah scored an excellent 11th minute free kick to help Egypt top Group D with Seven points as Ghana finished second with six points.
The former Chelsea boss speaking after the game indicated that though Egypt scored a ”fantastic” freekick in the first half, his boys dominated play after the unfortunate goal.
”The two teams that qualified from Group C are good and it’s going to be a tough game anyway. I hope the pitch in Oyem is better. I would have liked to win but now we have to focus on the quarter final.”
”It was a game decided by one mistake. They scored from a fantastic freekick but we dominated after that. Unfortunately we didn’t score but I’m happy with my players’ attitude. This is football.”
”On Sunday it is a different story and it would be a tough game.”
”The Israeli trainer also spoke about his Captain Asamoah Gyan injury situation”.
”Asamoah Gyan injury is not looking good but we will see what happened and I hope he will be better.”
Ghana will travel to Oyem this evening for Sunday’s quarters clash with DR Congo.
