The Black Stars of Ghana left it late as 95th minute goal from substitute Antoine Semenyo gave Ghana a 1-0 win over Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Group E of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

It was an average performance from the team as they sail through with a scrappy last minute goal.

Sportsworldghana.com takes a look at how the players performed.

Ati Zigi 6

He wasn’t tested much as he made just two saves throughout the game

Dennis Odoi 7

Was efficient on the right side of defense as he defended gallantly and popped upfront with surging runs.

Gideon Mensah 6

Saw little action as Ghana’s attack was mostly initiated from the right.

Daniel Amartey 6.5

Was a fair display, he was lucky not to have conceded a penalty after bringing down an Angolan attacker in the penalty box.

Alexander Djiku 6

Started warming himself into the game before getting injured.

Edmund Addo

Aside some good sideways passes, he couldn’t hold the middle much as the Angolans mostly played through the middle.

Thomas Partey 6

Had a normal game though he gave some delightful passes

Kamaldeen Sulemana 7

Best player on the Ghana side, the only player who was able to take on the Angolans players. His final deliveries wasn’t the best though.

Jordan Ayew 6.5

Was a delight to watch on the flanks in the first half but faded out in the second half before being subbed off

Mohammed Kudus 6.5

Had one shot on target and made some incursions into the Angolan box but it was generally a quiet day for him.

Inaki Williams 5

Played as if there was nothing at stake remained jittery until he was substituted in the second half.

Subs

Salis Samed 6

Replace Edmund Ado and brought a bit of stability to the team

Joseph Paintsil 6

Change the phase of the game with surging runs when he came on. Won the free kick which resulted in the goal

Antoine Semenyo 7

Did well by scoring the scrappy goal I’m the 96th minute when. He came on in the second half.
