Former Medeama SC player Eric Nyarko says the club playing outside Tarkwa will affect them in the upcoming 2023-24 CAF Champions League prelims.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak SC player and CAF Confederation Cup winner believes the team will need its home fans if they’re to progress in the elite club competition on the Africa continent.
According to him, many of the fans of the Tarkwa-based club may not be able to travel to watch the games should the TNA Park be unavailable at the start of the competition.
“It can affect them because supporters play a huge role in football. I always say Accra Hearts of Oak’s poor form this season was due to the supporters because when we played, the fans urged us on to play our best.”
“How many people will come from Tarkwa to watch you at Cape Coast, Kumasi or Accra? Kotoku Royals was relegated because they didn’t have a permanent home ground.”
“They moved to Cape Coast and later Dawu. If the park is not ready, seriously it will affect the team, he told Kessben Sports.
