Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic has expressed his excitement over the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Malachi Boateng, believing the young talent will strengthen his squad.
“Malachi provides further strength in depth to the squad but also fits the profile of player we are trying to sign perfectly,” Muslic stated, as quoted on the club’s official website.
“He is tall, athletic, and physical and complements the style of play I am trying to implement here at Argyle.
“I want to welcome him to the club and look forward to him joining up with the squad.”
Boateng’s move was confirmed on Monday, February 3, with Plymouth announcing that the 22-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
The club’s statement highlighted his connection to the team, noting:
“Argyle have signed defensive midfielder Malachi Boateng on a permanent transfer from Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian.
“The brother of former Argyle player, Hiram, Malachi now heads to the South West of England on a three-and-a-half-year contract and will bolster Head Coach Miron Muslic’s midfield options.”
Boateng’s arrival is expected to add depth and quality to Plymouth’s squad as they continue their campaign in the English Championship.
