Botev Plovdiv have reinforced their defense with the signing of Jamal Amofa on transfer deadline day.
The 26-year-old Dutch-born Ghanaian defender joins from Go Ahead Eagles, bringing valuable experience and versatility to the “yellow and black” squad.
Born in Amsterdam on November 25, 1998, Amofa developed his skills in SC Heerenveen’s youth academy before signing his first professional contract with ADO Den Haag in 2020. His strong performances earned him a move to Go Ahead Eagles in 2022, where he spent three seasons playing in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Now, Amofa embarks on a new challenge in Bulgaria with Botev Plovdiv, aiming to strengthen their backline for both domestic and European competitions. Known for his defensive solidity, composure on the ball, and leadership qualities, he is expected to play a key role for the club.
