Portuguese Primeira Liga club Estrela da Amadora has officially announced the signing of Ghanaian centre-back Semeu Commey from third-tier side CD Trofense. The 20-year-old defender has committed to a three-year contract, which will see him stay at Estadio Jose Gomes until 2028.
The club confirmed the transfer on their official website, stating, “Semeu Commey is the latest star signing and signs until 2028.”
Commey, who began his football journey at Boavista FC’s youth academy, has been a key player for Trofense since joining them in the 2023-24 season. In the ongoing 2024-25 Liga 3 campaign, he made 18 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist, proving to be an essential part of their defense.
After gaining valuable experience in Portugal’s lower divisions, Commey now steps up to the Primeira Liga, aiming to make his mark at the top level.
Although he has yet to be capped by the Ghana men’s senior national team, the Black Stars, Commey will hope his move to the top tier will attract the attention of national selectors in the near future.
