Former Ghana youth international Prince Kwabena Adu continued his impressive form for Viktoria Plzen, scoring in their 2-1 home victory over Real Sociedad in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Viktoria Plzen secured their first win of the 2024/25 Europa League campaign, extending their unbeaten streak to four games in the competition. The 21-year-old opened the scoring with a stunning strike in the 13th minute, sending the home fans into celebration and silencing the Real Sociedad supporters at the Doosan Arena.
Real Sociedad responded before the break, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 35th minute. Orri Óskarsson found the back of the net after a brilliant assist from Mikel Oyarzabal.
However, Czech international Daniel Vasulin, who had replaced Kwabena Adu in the 88th minute, sealed the win for Viktoria Plzen with a goal just two minutes into his appearance.
Kwabena Adu has now netted six goals and provided one assist in 12 appearances across all competitions in his debut season with Viktoria Plzen.
The former Bechem United forward joined the Czech club from Ukrainian side Kryvbas FC for a reported fee of €700,000 during the summer transfer window and signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
