Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has named Franck Etouga Mbella as the finest player he has ever coached, praising the Cameroonian striker’s remarkable talent and contributions to the club.
Mbella, who joined Kotoko in the 2021/22 season, made an instant impact by scoring 18 goals in his debut season, helping the Porcupine Warriors secure the Ghana Premier League title. His impressive goal tally also earned him the Golden Boot award as the league’s top scorer.
In an interview with TV3, Ogum lauded Mbella’s technical abilities and his killer instinct on the field, describing him as a game-changer.
“I would choose Mbella; he is technically skilled and truly a game-changer,” Ogum stated.
Ogum also reflected on his experiences in the league, revealing that Dormaa Ahenkro, the home of Aduana Stars, stands out as the most challenging away venue in the Ghana Premier League.
After a difficult campaign last season, Ogum is now focused on steering Asante Kotoko to success in the 2024/25 season.
The Porcupine Warriors are preparing for their Matchday 4 clash against Berekum Chelsea, which promises to be a pivotal encounter.
