Berekum Chelsea winger, Emmanuel Sarpong, has expressed confidence and readiness ahead of their upcoming match against Asante Kotoko this weekend.
The 26-year-old winger, who joined the club in 2023 after stints with Finnish side FC Finnkurd and FC Drita of Kosovo, is optimistic about securing a victory.
The Bibires have made a solid start to the Ghana Premier League season, earning four points from their first two matches. After a 1-1 draw with Vision FC on opening day, they bounced back with a 1-0 home victory against Karela United. Now, Sarpong and his teammates are gearing up for a crucial match against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Speaking about the upcoming clash, Sarpong confirmed that the team is fully prepared and motivated to collect all three points. He emphasized the continuity within their squad as a key advantage, noting that while Kotoko has undergone significant changes, Berekum Chelsea has maintained cohesion.
“They’ve built a new team, almost half of their players have left, and they’ve added new ones. We only lost three players, so there’s still strong cohesion, telepathy, and understanding among us. The game won’t be too difficult for us,” Sarpong said.
He also urged fans to show up in large numbers to support the team, promising that Berekum Chelsea would not disappoint.
“We hope to carry the day like we did last season. So we urge all our supporters to come in numbers and cheer us on to victory. We’re ready, and we won’t let them down on Sunday,” he added.
The highly anticipated Ghana Premier League Week 4 match between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko is scheduled for Sunday, September 29, at 15:00 GMT.
