Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey, has expressed his elation after playing a pivotal role in Arsenal’s victory in the Community Shield against Manchester City.
Despite receiving an early caution, Partey was a constant presence on the field throughout the entire game, contributing to the Gunners’ triumph on penalties at Wembley Stadium.
A late equalizer from substitute Leandro Trossard forced the match into a penalty shootout, where Arsenal emerged victorious by converting four penalties, while Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri missed for Manchester City.
Taking to Instagram, Partey conveyed his pride in being a part of the remarkable team’s success, expressing gratitude to all those who have supported them.
“Proud of being part of this amazing team! Big thanks to everyone supporting us,” wrote Partey in Instagram.
Earlier, there were reports suggesting that the 30-year-old might be on the verge of leaving the team due to the arrival of Declan Rice. However, Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has emphasized that Partey remains an integral component of the squad as they strive to contend for the English Premier League title.
Partey notably played a vital role in securing a Champions League spot for Arsenal in the previous season, further solidifying his significance within the team.
