Ghanaian forward Rahim Ibrahim played a pivotal role in Slovan Bratislava’s 3-1 triumph over Zeleziarne Podbrezova in the Slovakian Super Liga, delivering a crucial assist in an electrifying contest at the National Football Stadium.
The 23-year-old forward featured for the entire 90 minutes, demonstrating remarkable endurance and skill. His contributions helped extend Slovan’s dominance in this fixture, with the club now holding 17 wins compared to Podbrezova’s six, alongside two draws in their head-to-head record.
The breakthrough came in the 59th minute when Ibrahim orchestrated a swift counterattack, threading a precise pass to Róbert Mak, who made no mistake in finishing it off.
Podbrezova responded in the 82nd minute through Samuel Stefanik, briefly reviving their hopes. However, an own goal by Alex Markovic soon restored Slovan’s advantage. In stoppage time, Mak struck again, capitalizing on an assist from Alen Mustafic to secure the victory.
With 56% possession and 15 shots compared to Podbrezova’s 11, Slovan’s dominance was evident throughout the match.
Ibrahim, who now has two goals and one assist in 19 league appearances, will aim to maintain his momentum when Slovan faces Spartak Trnava in the Slovakian Cup on April 2nd.
