Hearts of Oak board member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has expressed confidence in head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, despite the club’s slow start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Ouattara has faced significant pressure from fans following back-to-back losses, starting with a defeat to Basake Holy Stars on matchday one, followed by a road loss to Heart of Lions. The poor form has fueled calls for the Ivorian coach’s dismissal.
However, Nyaho-Tamakloe remains optimistic that Ouattara will silence his critics. Speaking to Angel TV, he defended the coach, saying, “The coach has been given the freedom by the board to select his own players and train them, and that is exactly what he’s doing. If we have lost two matches, that doesn’t mean we have failed, or that the coach has failed.”
He continued, “I strongly believe that the way they are playing now, they will soon gel beautifully, and all these doubting Thomases will see that it takes time to train players. All I’ll tell the supporters is that they should just be patient.”
Despite sitting at the bottom of the league table after two games, Hearts of Oak will look to turn their season around when they face Bechem United in their next fixture.
