Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah has confidently backed his former side to defeat Asante Kotoko in the much-anticipated Super Clash set for Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak will aim to end a three-game losing streak against their fierce rivals in the Ghana Premier League showdown.
Speaking to MOTV, Attah expressed his belief in the Phobians’ chances of victory.
“Hearts of Oak will beat Asante Kotoko; I foresee a 2-1 victory for Hearts of Oak on Sunday,” he declared.
During his time at Hearts, Attah achieved an impressive record of three consecutive clean sheets against Asante Kotoko from 2021 to 2022. He has now called on Benjamin Asare, Hearts’ current first-choice goalkeeper, to uphold that standard.
“I want Benjamin Asare to continue my record of keeping clean sheets in all Premier League games against Asante Kotoko, starting this Sunday,” Attah urged.
The two sides are neck-and-neck on the league table, with Hearts of Oak sitting sixth with 19 points from 12 matches. Asante Kotoko are close behind in seventh place with 18 points.
The Super Clash promises to be a fiercely contested affair, with both teams eager to secure bragging rights and climb up the league standings.
