Ghanaian-eligible midfield prospect Samuel Washington-Amoah has taken a significant step in his young career after signing his first professional contract with Charlton Athletic FC, committing his future to the English club until 2028.

The talented 17-year-old midfielder has earned the deal following his impressive rise through Charlton’s academy system, where he has delivered standout performances for both the U18 and U21 teams. Known for his composure on the ball, excellent vision, and ability to dictate the tempo of matches, Washington-Amoah has quickly established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders within the club’s youth ranks.

Before continuing his development at Charlton, the highly rated youngster also had a trial with Tottenham Hotspur FC, a move that highlighted the level of attention surrounding his talent from top English clubs. His reputation grew even further after his memorable displays in the prestigious FA Youth Cup, where he played an important role and demonstrated maturity beyond his age.

Washington-Amoah is admired for his versatility in midfield. Comfortable operating as a deep-lying playmaker or in a more advanced role, he combines intelligent positioning, precise passing, and strong work rate. His confidence on the ball and ability to influence games have made him a key figure in Charlton’s youth setup.

By securing him on a long-term deal until 2028, Charlton Athletic have shown strong belief in his potential and future development. The professional contract represents a major milestone in his journey and could pave the way for opportunities with the club’s senior team in the coming years.

At just 17 years old, Samuel Washington-Amoah continues to develop into a midfielder with significant promise, and his progress will be closely watched as he looks to take the next steps in his professional career.
