Following Ghana’s narrow 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, coach Otto Addo has issued a heartfelt plea to Ghanaian football fans, urging them to exercise patience as he endeavors to construct a team for the future.

In a thrilling contest at the Baba Yara Stadium, Jordan Ayew’s hat trick and Abdul Fatawu’s goal secured a hard-fought win for the Black Stars, despite the valiant efforts of Louis Mafouta, who also notched a hat trick for the Wild Beasts.

Despite the victory, Addo emphasized the need for time and patience in nurturing a cohesive and competitive team. Recognizing the youthfulness of his squad, Addo highlighted their potential for growth and adaptation to his coaching philosophy.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day. It takes time to build a team and we will need time,” Addo stressed during the post-match press conference.

Emphasizing the developmental journey ahead, Addo reiterated his confidence in the young talents within the squad, expressing optimism for their future progression.

“We have young players who will grow and adapt,” he affirmed, signaling a commitment to long-term strategic planning and player development.

With Ghana currently leading Group I after four games, boasting a three-point advantage over contenders Madagascar and Comoros, Addo’s call for patience underscores the importance of continuity and perseverance in the pursuit of sustained success on the international stage.
