Senegalese superstar Sadio Mane is set to miss Senegal’s first group games at the 2022 World Cup an official from the country’s football federation has said.
Mane was injured on duty for Bayern Munich but was included in the final squad by Aliou Cisse. It has now been confirmed that he will surely miss Senegal’s opener against Netherlands.
“We will have to rely on playing the first games without Sadio and win without Sadio,” Senegal football federation (FSF) board member Abdoulaye Sow told AP.
