After winning the division one zone 2 of the 2021/2022, Samartex qualified into the Ghana’s elite division after its formation in 1995. The club was initially set up as a weekend recreational source for employees and all other interested inhabitants of Samreboi. As the level of competition, professionalism, and quality of players augmented, the management of Samartex put in more investment resulting in the club moving from Division 3 to Division 1.
The Samreboi based club managed a decent 10th position in their first outing in the Ghana premier League. The capture of Former Kotoko player Emmanuel Keyeke seems to have been the spark off for greater things ahead for the club last year after they gained promotion.
Coach Annor walk took on the responsibility of coaching the club in its first season after he replaced Henry Wellington.
The beautiful renovated Nsenkyire Sports Arena purely made of wood with a sitting capacity 4000 has become a fortress this season with 7 matches and 7 wins to their credit. Their exploits at their home grounds means they average two goals every game, their solid defense have conceded just 3 goals.
The Timber Giants as affectionally called are on top of the League log with 26 points and also boast of impressive wins like a 3-0 nil victory against Legon Cities, 4-1 win against Bechem United, 2- 0 win against CAF Confederation Cup campaigner Dreams FC and a painful one nil defeat to the Porcupine Warriors by ex-player of Kotoko Emmanuel Keyeke.
Samartex dominance play adopted by Amadu Nuredeen has made the club a tough opposition for every club that faces them in the on-going premier league. The lowest point on the club this term is probably their elimination from the MTN FA Cup by Skyy FC, the hopes of the club to do an enviable double vanished after a rather surprising 2-0 loss away to the division side at the St Martins Park.
The goal scoring Prowers of Musa Baba, Epshon Micheal and Emmanuel Keyeke will be very keen for the timber giants as they seek to win the Ghana Premier League for the people of Samreboi.
