Following Samartex’s disappointing defeat to Nations FC in Week 19 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, head coach Nurudeen Amadu is redirecting the team’s attention towards upcoming fixtures.
The Timber Giants’ previously impregnable home record was shattered as Nafiu Sulemana’s strike secured a 1-0 victory for the visiting side at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
Expressing his thoughts on the loss, Amadu bemoaned the absence of luck, highlighting the significance of fortune in crucial encounters. “Luck eluded us today, which is pivotal in such matches,” he lamented. “Despite creating numerous chances, our failure to convert, including hitting the post on multiple occasions, reflects our unfortunate fortunes in this game.”
Despite the setback, Amadu stressed the importance of looking ahead. “We cannot dwell on this defeat; our focus must shift to what lies ahead. While it’s painful to suffer our first home loss this season, we must forge ahead.”
Currently, Samartex maintains their position at the summit of the league standings with 35 points, while Nations FC climbs to the fourth spot with 30 points and a game in hand.
