Samartex head coach Nurudeen Amadu lamented the absence of fortune following their defeat to Nations FC in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League matchday 19 clash on Monday morning.
The Timber Giants’ previously unblemished record at home was shattered as Nafiu Sulemana secured a 1-0 win for the visiting team at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.
For Nations FC, aiming for a coveted top-four finish, this away victory represented a significant stride towards their objective.
Reflecting on the outcome, Samartex head coach Nurudeen Amadu attributed the loss to a stroke of misfortune, expressing disappointment at their inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities throughout the game.
“Luck evaded us, and in games like this, it’s crucial,” expressed Amadu. “Nothing seemed to work for us in terms of conversion, despite creating numerous chances. To hit the post on more than three occasions reflects our lack of fortune today.”
Despite the setback, Samartex maintains their perch atop the league standings with 35 points, while Nations FC ascends to the fourth position with 30 points and a game in hand.
