Samartex coach Nuruddeen Amadu reaffirms team’s dedication to leading position in Ghana Premier League 2023/24, following narrow victory over Medeama.
After securing a pivotal 1-0 win over Medeama, Samartex reclaimed the top spot in the league, now leading their closest rivals by a mere two points.
Acknowledging the pressure to maintain their position, Amadu stresses the importance of remaining focused on their performance amidst external expectations. “We are under pressure; we all bear the pressure to get back to the top. Even though I psych the players to play, we bear the pressure,” he concedes.
The decisive goal was netted by Francis Gyetua in the 38th minute, sealing the vital victory for Samartex. Despite the looming threat from Nations FC, who are also in contention for the top spot, Amadu urges his team to stay focused on their own game.
“They should play; they shouldn’t think about Nations FC coming to the top,” he asserts.
Next up, Samartex faces Legon Cities in an away fixture, aiming to maintain their lead and secure valuable points in the league race.
