Samuel Boadu has agreed a mutual termination of his contract with Hearts of Oak board chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, confirming his exit after just one and half years as head coach of the club.

This comes after a series of poor performances by the club this season, failing to win any of their first three matches.

Boadu joined the Phobians in March 2021 after a difficult period under Kosta Papic. The start of his tenure was a rosy one, with the club eventually winning the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title and the FA Cup.

Despite the club’s struggles the following season, Boadu and his men won the FA Cup for the second time after beating Bechem United 2-1 in the final.

Hearts of Oak will now be looking for a new coach.
