The dispute between Andre Onana and  Samuel Eto’o is still ongoing per reports emanating from the Cameroon camp in Ivory Coast.

It is said that they haven’t spoken since the Qatar FIFA World Cup in November 2022 and that their relationship is broken and irreconcilable.

Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Association has had a series of misunderstandings with goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Manchester United goalkeeper was sacked from Cameroon camp during the 2022 FIFA World Cup but was once again recalled after it was sorted out.

Andre Onana has been blamed for disrespecting the Cameroonian national team for a long time and it is because of that Samuel Eto’o has not spoken to him for quite a long time.

Onana was the last player to join the national team among all the players called up for the AFCON as he played for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday and Cameroon’s first game was on Monday, 24 hours later.

Many Cameroonians think that Onana doesn’t cherish the national team and therefore must not be called up again.

The Indomitable Lions have been in trouble in Ivory Coast as they drew 1-1 with 10 men against Guinea and were beaten easily 3-1 by Senegal.

They have to beat The Gambia at all costs and rely on other results to favour them to secure qualification.
