Former Asante Kotoko star defender Samuel Inkoom has not shut the door on a Black Stars return despite being inactive for three months.
The U20 World Cup winner returned to Ghana after ending his stay with Georgian outfit Torpedo Kutaisi late last year.
Despite not playing for the national team for almost four years, the defender disclosed he has not retired from the senior national team.
“I haven’t shut the door for a Black Stars call up. I am still available for Ghana anytime the coach needs me but not for the Nigeria game because I’m not with any club now,” he told Starr FM.
Inkoom is in a hunt for a new club as he seeks to revive his career.
Ghana will face Nigeria in the playoffs of the World Cup later this month, and the right-back who played against the Super Eagles at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations is optimistic of Ghana’s chances.
“It is a big yes. Ghana and Nigeria is not about form. The players need to be disciplined on the pitch. We can’t afford to miss Qatar,” he said when asked if Ghana can beat Nigeria.
Ghana hosts Nigeria in Cape Coast on March 25, 2022 before travelling to Abuja in four days time for the second leg.
