Asante Kotoko’s new signing, Albert Amoah, has expressed his delight and newfound confidence following his decisive goal in his competitive debut for the Porcupine Warriors.
The 22-year-old striker’s goal secured a 1-0 victory over Karela United on Sunday, marking a successful start to the Ghana Premier League season for Kotoko.
Amoah’s solitary strike came in their opening match of the season, played at the Naa Sherigaa Sports Complex in Nalerigu. Reflecting on his performance, Amoah told the club’s media team that scoring in his first league game has significantly boosted his confidence.
“Scoring your first goal as a striker in your debut league match will give you a lot of confidence going into the next game,” Amoah said. “So getting my first goal in my first league game makes me very happy and confident that I can continue to perform well.”
Amoah, who joined Asante Kotoko from Division One side Great Olympics, is one of over 12 new players recruited by the club during the offseason.
This influx of new talent follows a significant overhaul of the squad, with more than 20 players departing at the end of the previous season.
