Austrian Típico Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC attacker, Augustine Boakye deserves Black Meteors spot for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco for U-23.
The former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate has been a pivot for his club in the Austrian Típico Bundesliga this season as they scored a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualification.
Boakye, 22, has had a great season in the Austrian top-flight and is eligible to represent Ghana at the 2023 CAF U-23 Championship in Morocco later this month.
The Bompata-born forward has scored six goals and provided two assists in 31 matches this season in the Austrian Típico Bundesliga for his team and could bring a lot to the Black Meteors table.
Ghana last played at the Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens, Greece where they suffered a group stage elimination.
The Meteors team are in the same group as hosts nation Morocco, Guinea and Congo Brazzaville as they battle for a place in the semifinal and qualification for the Olympic games in Paris, France.
