At the 11 November Stadium on Monday, March 27, Angola and Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to goals from Lucas Joao and Osman Bukari, respectively.

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton made four changes to the team that beat Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium including Thomas Partey being an unused substitute.

The draw sees Ghana still at the top of Group E with two games to go. However, the Black Stars now see their lead at the top cut to just a point after Central African Republic’s win over Madagascar.

Here are some reactions from Ghanaians on social media after the game:

I always wished a coach would be bold enough to try Jordan Ayew in midfield. Hughton has done it and he’s thriving, isn’t he?

Two things I've learnt after Chris Hughton’s first two game as Black Stars coach.

1. Our strikers (Iñaki/Semenyo) genuinely don't get the services they deserve as CFs and that needs to be sorted out.

2. Hughton reads the game and makes appropriate substitutions.

The Black Stars will get there! The signs are good!!!

An excellent 30 minutes.

Most journalists including myself kept complaining about why Joseph Painstil was not making the Black Stars call-ups.

He is one of the best Ghanaian players out there. Today he justified why we kept asking questions in 30mins. His impact was immense pic.twitter.com/nr4fIS6SrG

It takes an exceptional player to identify a fellow player.

Asamoah Gyan placed his credibility on the line to make a good pitch for Majeed Ashimeru.

Ladies and gentlemen, his proven his worth for BlackStars under Chris Hughton. pic.twitter.com/wXthbG2IpH
