Ghana’s Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif has confirmed that the country have received its portion of the 2022 World Cup funding from FIFA through the Ghana Football Association.
He stated this at a press conference on Wednesday, July 26,2023 and gave detailed information about the whole thing.
Ghana’s Black Stars failed to progress to the next stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar as they bowed out at just the group stages.
Following their early elimination from the tournament, Ghana was entitled to a total amount of $10.5 million. A $2.5 million participation fee and a $8 million prize pool were included in the allocation.

Outlining how the money will be used, Mustapha Ussif said, “We are just about going to AFCON. We also want to improve some sports infrastructure. The FA has written to us that they want to improve the infrastructure at Prampram”
