Berekum Chelsea captain, Stephen Amankonah has issued a ‘come and get me plea’ to Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
The forward had a strong campaign with the Blues last season and has heavily been linked with the Porcupine Warriors in the last few months.
While negotiations between both clubs seems to be at a standstill, the prolific striker has revealed his keen intentions to don the famous Kotoko jerseys next season.
Asked about his transfer situation in an interview, the player said to Fox FM: “I am ready and willing to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko but it is left with the onwards transfer fee. Chelsea wants 30% onwards transfer fee but Kotoko wants to pay 15%”
The Chelsea skipper explained that his a strong admirer of the Kumasi-based club, and is keen to play for the team, adding that personal terms are not an issue.
“Kotoko is very dear to my heart. I want to come and serve Asanteman. I am very eager to come and play for Kotoko. Personal terms and transfer fee is not a problem for now. I am really pushing for the deal to happen. The faith that Kotoko has in me, I want to come and repay it. Right now, I am only waiting for Nana Yaw Amponsah to call me to come to Kumasi,” Amankonah concluded.
Kotoko has been very active in the transfer window and are looking to recruit more talents before the window closes.
