Stoke City have completed the signing of England-born Ghanaian exciting winger Ato Ampah from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old, who has penned a three-and-a-half year contract in the Potteries, has been with the Premier League side since the age of 11 and made his first team debut in last season’s UEFA Conference League.

In 41 starts across the Blues’ under-18, UEFA Youth League and under-21 sides, Ampah has scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists.

Every step.

“Ato is a player we have watched extensively and, when the opportunity arose to bring him in this month, we acted swiftly,” Sporting Director Jonathan Walters explained.

“He has a really strong mentality and, as a fast, dynamic winger, he is the type of player who can get you off your seat. He fits the profile of player we want in wide areas for Stoke City.

“At 19, he has significant development ahead of him, and we believe he will only continue to progress within our first team.”

Ampah added: “I am very excited about this new chapter in my career.

“I know the Manager and coaching staff here have a reputation for developing young players and that was a big factor in my decision.

“I am hungry, determined and excited to express myself in front of Stoke City’s supporters.”
