Berekum Chelsea’s coach, Christopher Ennin, has acknowledged the need for significant improvements within his squad to regain their winning form.
Ennin’s remarks follow their recent 1-0 loss to Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Friday, October 6, 2023, where Isaac Mintah’s first-half goal secured the victory for the hosts.
The Bibires have now gone winless in their last three matches, following their opening day 2-0 victory against Bibiani Gold Stars. This streak was further compounded by a 3-1 defeat in Tamale to Karela United and a 1-1 draw against a resilient Accra Lions side at their home ground.
“I think there is a lot of things I need to work because after coming back from that lose in Tamale, it seems we are still struggling. So, I think I need to go back and work a lot with them so that we can bounce back,” Ennin said post-match.
He also expressed concern about the team’s diminishing energy levels since the preseason and the Samartex tournament.
“The energy we brought from the pre-season to the tournament in Samartex, it seems it is dropping so it’s something that I have to monitor carefully and see. If it’s something, definitely it’s going to correct as soon as possible and before Sunday things will be fine,” he added.
Ennin pledged to closely monitor this issue and make necessary corrections promptly, ensuring improvements before their upcoming match against debutants Nations FC, which will be held at their home ground.
