The highly anticipated Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak is set to take center stage at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on matchday 13 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
The fixture was revealed by the Ghana Football Association on Monday, and it promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of the most successful teams in the competition.
Last season, Kotoko completed the double over Hearts of Oak, winning 3-2 in the first encounter and then securing a 2-0 victory in the return leg. The first match was originally supposed to be played at Accra Sports Stadium, but due to unavailability, it was shifted to Kumasi.
This season, the return leg will take place on matchday 30 at Accra Sports Stadium. Both teams have had a disappointing last season, with Hearts of Oak narrowly avoiding relegation. However, they have both invested heavily in the offseason, signing new players and parting ways with others.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on September 6, 2024, and conclude on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
The league will consist of 34 weekends with no midweek matchdays, aimed at reducing the travel burden on clubs.
The league will also take a one-week break leading up to December 7, 2024, national elections.
