Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has described the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak as one of the most intense and important fixtures in Ghana football, stressing that his team is fully prepared to give their best for the supporters.
Speaking on Akoma FM, ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster encounter, Zito said his experience coaching both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko has given him a deep understanding of how much the game means to fans.
“I have coached both clubs before, so I know how intense, how aggressive and how important this game is to the supporters,” Zito said.
The Kotoko boss noted that his side must approach the game with the same determination they showed in their previous meeting with Hearts of Oak in Accra.
“We have to do our best, just as we did in Accra when we went there to face Hearts of Oak and competed strongly against them,” he added.
Asked about his expectations for the match result, Zito responded with confidence and faith.
“Are we going to win? Yes, Inshallah,” he said.
Zito also highlighted his personal record and belief in his team’s progress despite recent struggles.
“All I know is that I am still unbeaten and I intend to maintain that record. They should continue praying for us,” he stated. “I know that lately things haven’t gone the way the fans expected, but I promise them that better days are coming.”
The Super Clash between Ghana’s two most successful clubs is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with thousands of fans expected to throng the venue for another chapter in the historic rivalry.
